Building Your Digital Toolbox

We Still Need Speakers

PodCamp needs you! As a community event we rely on our community to step forward and share it’s collective wisdom. This strategy has let to amazing events that inspire, motivate and connect people in unexpected ways. This year we want to focus our energy and want to know how you build your digital toolbox. What tools are you using and how. We are still accepting session speakers so if you have an idea please submit today.

What Does it Mean to Build Your Digital Toolbox

Not only is technology evolving day by day we need to keep ourselves updated on each tool and how to best use each one. Building your digital toolbox used be as easy as opening an RSS feed reader or listening to a podcast once a week. Today we have to think about SEO, content delivery, marketing, social media, user experience, mobile, analytics, ROI, and the list goes on. You can see how it is a challenge to get your work done and stay on top of the ever changing internet. Building your digital toolbox simply means knowing what are the right tools for you and knowing how to use them.

Why Did We Choose This Topic

When we first sat down to talk about PodCamp this year it was right on the tip of my tongue, “digital toolbox.” However it took a few planning sessions before someone brought it all together. In our hyper-connected world it is easy to forget that there are a lot of people who aren’t the early adopters of technology and new media. There is a huge difference between running a Facebook profile and delivering content and driving traffic to you website through a campaign. We are all our own digital marketing managers and just having accounts on all the right networks is only the first step in running a successful social marketing campaign.

You get the picture, a master craftsman keeps his tools in good order so does a diligent social media manager.

Looking Ahead

I look forward to seeing everyone in the coming months as we have a number of PodCamp events leading up to October 27 -28. This Wednesday we will be with PYP in the strip for a panel discussion on Building Your Digital Toolbox. We are working on a few Evening with PodCamp events as well. So stay tuned and get your session ideas in.
